Results the same dayYour hearing explained clearly, before you leave

Audiology Health Clinic of the Year 2025, SME News.
Over 50 years of combined experience across our audiologists.
Across Google, Doctify and Trustpilot.
BSA-aligned procedures, annually calibrated equipment, soundproof booths.
The Short Answer
A private hearing test is a comprehensive, audiologist-led assessment of how well you hear. At VIP Hearing Solutions, your appointment includes otoscopy, pure-tone audiometry in a soundproof booth and, where clinically indicated, further diagnostic tests — with your results explained the same day and a personalised plan agreed before you leave.
Comprehensive by Design
01
Every assessment begins with a visual examination of your ear canal and eardrum. It rules out blockages such as ear wax, signs of infection and other conditions that can affect your hearing — and tells your audiologist whether ear wax removal is needed before testing.
02
The heart of your hearing test, carried out in a soundproof booth. Wearing calibrated audiometric headphones, you respond to tones at different pitches and volumes in each ear. The result is your audiogram — a precise map of the quietest sounds you can hear.
03
A gentle probe measures how your eardrum and middle ear respond to small changes in air pressure — detecting fluid, perforation and other middle-ear conditions that can affect hearing.
04
Measures how the tiny muscles of your middle ear respond to louder sounds, helping your audiologist locate which part of the hearing pathway is affected.
05
Assesses how clearly you understand speech — not just whether you hear sound — which matters most in everyday conversation.
*Carried out only where your audiologist sees a clinical need — an additional fee applies.
Your Journey
Step 1
We start with your story: your concerns, your health history and the listening situations that matter most to you.

Step 2
Otoscopy — a painless examination of your ear canals and eardrums before any testing begins.

Step 3
Pure-tone audiometry in a soundproof booth, using annually calibrated equipment — each ear measured precisely.

Step 4
Tympanometry, acoustic reflex or speech audiometry — only when your audiologist sees a clinical reason.

Step 5
Your results the same day, in plain English — you’ll understand exactly what your hearing is doing and why.

Step 6
Clear next steps agreed together — reassurance and a baseline, wax removal, tinnitus care, or hearing aids with a free 30-day home trial. An ENT referral letter is included where needed.

After the Test
Your audiogram maps the quietest sound you can hear at each pitch, ear by ear. Your audiologist walks you through it the same day — what’s typical for your age, what isn’t, and what it means for everyday listening.
You leave with peace of mind and a baseline we can compare against in future.
Microsuction ear wax removal is available at every clinic, often the same week.
We agree a tailored plan together. If hearing aids are right for you, premium technology starts from £3,295 per pair — with a free, no-obligation 30-day home trial.
Structured, evidence-based tinnitus care at all three clinics.
We don’t work for manufacturers. We work for you.
