Every major brand
Repairs for Every Major Hearing Aid Brand
Whatever make of hearing aid you wear, our audiologists can help.
We repair hearing aids from all seven of the world’s leading manufacturers. Whether you wear a discreet in-the-ear device, a receiver-in-canal or a behind-the-ear aid, our HCPC-registered audiologists can diagnose the fault and put it right.
Bought your hearing aids elsewhere? That is no problem at all. You do not need to be an existing VIP Hearing Solutions patient — we regularly help people whose hearing aids came from another clinic, a high-street chain or an online retailer, and whose original provider is no longer convenient.
Faults we fix
Common Hearing Aid Faults We Fix
Hearing aids are small, hard-working devices, and most develop a fault at some point. These are the problems we see — and fix — most often:
- No sound or weak sound — often a blocked wax filter, tubing or receiver.
- A hearing aid that won’t turn on — battery contacts, charging faults or moisture.
- Crackling or distorted sound — microphone or receiver issues.
- Whistling or feedback — fit, tubing or earmould problems.
- Bluetooth that won’t connect — pairing and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Physical damage — cracked casings, broken battery doors and worn parts.
- Moisture and wax damage — professional cleaning and drying.
- A loose or uncomfortable fit — earmould and dome replacement.
If your hearing aid is doing something not on this list, bring it in anyway — we will take a look and tell you honestly what is needed.
Where to find us
Hearing Aid Repairs at All Three Clinics
You can have your hearing aids repaired at any of our three clinics. Many minor repairs — re-tubing, wax filter changes, cleaning, and dome or earmould replacement — are carried out while you wait. More complex faults may need to be sent to the manufacturer; where that is the case, we manage the process for you and keep you updated throughout.
We recommend calling ahead so we can advise you, have the right parts ready, and keep your wait to a minimum. Most repairs are seen the same day or, at the latest, within the same week.
Common questions
Hearing Aid Repairs — Your Questions Answered
Can you repair hearing aids bought elsewhere?
Yes. We repair hearing aids regardless of where you bought them — whether from another audiologist, a high-street chain or online. You do not need to be an existing VIP Hearing Solutions patient.
Which hearing aid brands do you repair?
We repair hearing aids from all major manufacturers, including Phonak, Starkey, Oticon, Widex, ReSound, Unitron and Signia, in every style — from invisible in-the-ear devices to behind-the-ear aids.
How long does a hearing aid repair take?
Many minor repairs — such as re-tubing, wax filter changes and cleaning — are done the same day, often while you wait. More complex faults may need to be sent to the manufacturer, which takes longer; we will give you a clear timescale once we have assessed your hearing aid.
How much does a hearing aid repair cost?
The cost depends on the fault and whether your hearing aid is still under warranty. Many small adjustments and cleans are carried out free of charge for our patients; for anything more involved, we will always give you a clear quote before any work begins.
Do I need an appointment for a hearing aid repair?
We recommend calling your nearest clinic first, so we can advise you, book you in, and have the right parts ready — which keeps your wait to a minimum.
Can you repair old hearing aids?
In most cases, yes. We can often service and repair older hearing aids. If an aid is genuinely beyond economical repair, we will tell you honestly and talk through your options — with no pressure.
Which clinics offer hearing aid repairs?
All three of our clinics offer hearing aid repairs — London Wimpole Street, Eastcote and Brentwood. All three are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
