What your insurance covers

Hearing Tests & Audiology Assessments, Covered

Private medical insurance can cover the cost of a consultation and diagnostic audiology testing at VIP Hearing Solutions.

That includes a full hearing test, tympanometry, and other diagnostic audiology assessments carried out by a HCPC-registered audiologist. Insurer-funded appointments are available at our London Wimpole Street clinic and our Brentwood clinic.

Our audiologists are experienced in working with insurer requirements — diagnostic coding, pre-authorisation and claim paperwork — so the process is smooth from start to finish.

Before your appointment, we confirm exactly what your policy covers and give you a clear, written quote — so you always know where you stand, with no surprises.

Referred for testing

Referred by an ENT Specialist?

Many of our insured patients come to us on the recommendation of an ENT (ear, nose and throat) consultant. If a specialist has referred you for hearing or audiology testing, VIP Hearing Solutions can carry out those assessments for you — a full diagnostic hearing test, tympanometry, and any other audiology testing your consultant has requested.

We complete the testing at our London or Brentwood clinic, share the results, and bill your insurer directly where your policy allows. It is a simple, well-trodden route — and we will guide you through every step.

Insurers & the process

Insurers We Work With

We work with all the major UK private medical insurers. If you are covered by any of the following providers, talk to us about using your policy towards your hearing assessment:

  • Bupa
  • AXA Health
  • Cigna
  • Vitality
  • WPA
  • Aetna
  • Aviva
  • Healix

Insured with a different provider? Please still get in touch — we can usually help, and we will always tell you honestly if we cannot.

How It Works

  1. Check your policy. Confirm with your insurer what your plan covers for audiology testing, and whether you need pre-authorisation or a referral.
  2. Book at London or Brentwood. Call the clinic and let us know you intend to claim on insurance — and mention it if you have an ENT referral.
  3. We carry out your assessment. Your audiologist completes the hearing test and any other audiology testing you need.
  4. We handle the paperwork. We provide the findings, diagnostic codes and itemised invoices your insurer requires, and bill them directly where your policy allows.
