Transparent, honest pricing

How Much Does Private Hearing Care Cost in Brentwood?

At our Brentwood clinic the hearing test is free. Premium private hearing aids start from £3,295 per pair, including a complete bespoke fitting by a HCPC-registered audiologist, a personalised VIP aftercare package and a free, no-obligation 30-day home trial. We never quote tier-by-tier price ladders because the right hearing aid for you depends on your hearing, your lifestyle and your ears, not a price band on a page.

Premium hearing aids · From · per pair

£3,295

Includes a complete bespoke fitting by a HCPC-registered audiologist, a personalised VIP aftercare package, and a free, no-obligation 30-day home trial.

  • Hearing test — full diagnostic assessment, HCPC-registered audiologist Free
  • Microsuction ear wax removal — gentle, water-free, under direct vision From £70
  • Tinnitus consultation — structured assessment + management plan On enquiry
  • Custom hearing protection — moulded for musicians, work, sleep, swimming On enquiry

Why no price ladder? Because we don’t work for manufacturers, we work for you — so a price ladder pretending the “premium tier” is always best would misrepresent how we actually recommend. Your audiologist will explain exactly which technology level suits your hearing and why, with no upsell. See our full hearing aid prices page for more on what’s included.

No-pressure, no-risk hearing aid trial

Try Your New Hearing Aids For 30 Days — Free

Hearing aids only really tell you what they can do once they are out in the world. A clinic room is too quiet, too controlled. That is why every hearing aid fitting at our Brentwood clinic includes a free, no-obligation 30-day home trial.

Take them around Brentwood. Wear them along the High Street, at the supermarket, on the commute, in the car, at a family dinner. If they are not transforming your hearing in the situations you actually live in, we will adjust them — and if they still are not right after that, you simply hand them back. There is no obligation, no pressure and no fine print.

Talk to us about the hearing aids we fit in Brentwood, or book your free hearing test to begin.

  1. Free hearing test at Brentwood We carry out a full diagnostic hearing assessment and explain your results clearly — before any device is recommended.
  2. Bespoke fitting at the clinic If hearing aids would help, we programme them to your audiogram and your lifestyle on the day of fitting.
  3. Live with them for 30 days Wear them everywhere you normally go around Essex — work, family, the school run, a round of golf. Note what works and what doesn’t.
  4. Fine-tune at follow-up — keep them or hand them back We adjust the programming based on your real-world feedback. If they are right, they are yours; if not, return them with no charge, no questions.

A trusted local name

Nearly 30 Years of Hearing Care in Brentwood

If you've lived in Brentwood for a while, you may know our clinic by another name. For nearly thirty years — since 1997 — it has been a trusted local hearing practice, known to many as County Hearing Care. Today it is part of VIP Hearing Solutions: the same welcoming team, a continued commitment to Brentwood, and investment in the latest hearing technology and aftercare. If you are a returning patient, your care continues seamlessly.

Good to know

Brentwood Clinic — Frequently Asked Questions

Is the hearing test free at the Brentwood clinic?

Yes. Your hearing test at our Brentwood clinic is completely free — there is no charge for the consultation and no obligation to proceed. It is a full diagnostic hearing assessment with a HCPC-registered audiologist, who will test your hearing, explain your results clearly, and talk through your options. To book your free hearing test, call 01277 264938.

How much do hearing aids and ear wax removal cost at Brentwood?

Your hearing test is free. Microsuction ear wax removal is from £70. Premium hearing aids are from £3,295 per pair, fitted by an expert audiologist and including a bespoke VIP aftercare package and a free, no-obligation 30-day trial. You can read more on our hearing aid prices page, or call 01277 264938 and we'll explain everything clearly before you book.

How do I know if I need a hearing test?

Common signs include turning the television up louder than others would like, struggling to follow conversations in busy or noisy places, often asking people to repeat themselves, or finding phone calls harder than they used to be. Hearing changes gradually, so it's easy to miss. Because the hearing test at our Brentwood clinic is free, there's no reason not to check — book a free hearing test and you'll have a clear picture of your hearing.

Are you the same clinic as County Hearing Care?

Yes. Our Brentwood clinic has cared for the area's hearing since 1997, and for many years was known locally as County Hearing Care. It is now part of VIP Hearing Solutions. The welcoming local service continues — and if you were a County Hearing Care patient, your care carries on without interruption. You can read more about the transition here.

Do you offer ear syringing in Brentwood?

We offer microsuction ear wax removal, which is the modern, safer alternative to traditional ear syringing. Rather than flushing the ear with water, microsuction uses gentle suction under a microscope to remove wax precisely — with no mess and, in most cases, immediate relief. It is available at our Brentwood clinic from £70.

Is there parking at the Brentwood clinic?

Yes — the Brentwood clinic is best reached by car. There is 30 minutes' free parking at the Sainsbury's car park on William Hunter Way, and longer paid parking at the William Hunter Way car park nearby — both just a short walk from the clinic.

What's the nearest train station to the Brentwood clinic?

The nearest station is Brentwood, served by the Elizabeth line and Greater Anglia, about a ten-minute walk or a short bus ride from the clinic. The Elizabeth line gives direct access from central London and the wider East London and Essex network.

Do you accept private medical insurance?

Yes. Private medical insurance can cover your consultation and diagnostic hearing tests at our Brentwood clinic — we work with all major UK insurers, including Bupa, AXA, Cigna, Vitality, WPA, Aetna, Aviva and Healix. Many patients are referred by an ENT specialist for testing, and we bill the insurer directly where your policy allows. Cover varies by policy, so do check your plan or call us.

How long does a hearing assessment take?

We allow plenty of time so your appointment is never rushed. A full hearing assessment typically takes up to an hour — including time to discuss your hearing history, carry out the tests, explain your results clearly and talk through your options.

How much do private hearing aids cost in Brentwood?

Premium private hearing aids at our Brentwood clinic start from £3,295 per pair. That price covers a full bespoke fitting by a HCPC-registered audiologist, a personalised VIP aftercare package and a free, no-obligation 30-day home trial. Because we are genuinely independent — not tied to any single manufacturer — we fit from all seven of the leading brands and recommend purely on the basis of what suits your hearing and your budget. See our hearing aid prices page for more.

Which hearing aid brands can I choose from?

We fit from all seven of the world’s leading hearing aid manufacturers — Phonak, Starkey, Oticon, Widex, ReSound, Unitron and Signia. We don’t work for manufacturers, we work for you, so our recommendation is based purely on what suits your hearing, your lifestyle and your budget. Every fitting includes a free 30-day home trial.

Do you fit invisible hearing aids in Brentwood?

Yes — many of the hearing aids we fit are remarkably discreet. Options range from in-the-canal (ITC) styles through to completely-in-canal (CIC) and invisible-in-canal (IIC) devices that sit deep enough in the ear canal to be virtually unseen. We also fit Phonak Lyric, an extended-wear hearing aid worn around the clock for months at a time. Read more about invisible hearing aids.

Do you offer a free trial of hearing aids?

Yes. Every hearing aid fitting at our Brentwood clinic includes a free, no-obligation 30-day home trial. You wear the hearing aids in your real day-to-day life — at work, at home, in noisy restaurants, on the school run — and we fine-tune them at a follow-up based on what you experienced. If they are not right after that, you simply hand them back, with no charge.

Who are the audiologists at the Brentwood clinic?

The audiologists who see patients at our Brentwood clinic are Mo Khan (Deputy Chief of Audiology — the audiologist you are most likely to see in Brentwood, HCPC HAD03074, MSc & BSc Hons, who has practised for the best part of a decade in the Harley Street medical district), Nick Clive (Chief of Audiology, HCPC HAD00170, more than 16 years as Chief of Audiology on Harley Street), and Tim Johnson (HCPC HAD004892, MSc Audiological Science, UCL). All registrations are verifiable at hcpc-uk.org.

What hearing conditions can you help with?

We see adult patients across the full range of audiology — age-related hearing loss, noise-induced hearing loss, asymmetric hearing loss, sudden hearing changes, tinnitus, recurrent ear wax build-up, hyperacusis and balance-related referrals. We fit hearing aids of every style (BTE, RIC, ITC, IIC, and extended-wear Lyric), supply custom hearing protection, and care for existing hearing aid users with servicing and aftercare. We do not see paediatric patients or offer home visits.
